Mobile World Congress 2016 – Video Recap
100,000 people, over 3,000 exhibitors, the usual transport strikes and even Mark Zuckerberg returned for another year, what else could it be but the Mobile World Congress 2016 in Barcelona, or MWC as it’s known to its friends. This year was bigger and better than ever and whilst last year the big thing was Wearables, this year was all about Connected Cars, Virtual Reality and The Internet of Things, or rather, ‘The Internet of Cows’ – connected devices for cows debuted, which was quite interesting.
We created some pretty cool content for our wonderful clients, the event organisers, GSMA and MediaCom, covering all things from ESL Gaming to Smart Shoes. This isn’t our first time around the block at MWC and there are always a few surprises and discoveries, one of which we only realised at the end of last day – we’ll have to remember that one for next year. Two things which also featured heavily this year was 360 filming and Robots! LG announced their Rolling Bot, a ball-shaped robot that monitors your home when you’re away, and even lets you play with your pet with a laser that you can operate from a remote location – pretty cool we think!
MWC is also where some of the biggest handset launches take place and this year was no different, there was a slew of new devices from Sony as well as Samsung, HTC, LG, Google and more. But Rather than talk about all the great things that happened we think you should watch our wrap up video below for our ‘Top 7 from Mobile World Congress’.
We also did some of our own 360 filming at the show this year with our new Theta S 360 Degree Camera. This year the MWC introduced the Innovation Tours, which were a great way of gaining insights from industry experts and seeing the latest technologies, all with a guided tour. See our short clip of this below.
and lastly… here are some of our team shots from behind scenes in Barcelona, including snaps from the two evening events we filmed at Pasha Nightclub and the W Hotel.

Hope you’ve enjoyed our wrap up and we look forward to seeing you all back there next year!
